Clash of Clans has unveiled the second sneak peek for the highly anticipated June 2023 update. According to an announcement on the game’s official subreddit, Super Hog Riders are set to make their debut. So get ready to proudly shout, “Hog Riderrrrr”!
Super Hog Rider
Similar to other Super Troops, Super Hog Riders will be a larger and more durable version of the regular Hog Riders. They will have higher damage per second and increased hitpoints compared to their regular counterparts.
As stated in the details published on the game’s subreddit, the Super Hog Rider has a unique ability known as “Divide and Conquer”.
When a Super Hog Rider is defeated, it will split into two separate units: the Hog and the Rider. These individual units will be able to act independently.
The Rider will target the nearest buildings, while the Hog will continue its assault on enemy defenses. Additionally, the Hog will have the ability to leap over walls.
The Super Hog Rider will become available for players at Town Hall 13 and can be unlocked by upgrading the regular Hog Rider to level 10. Similar to its regular counterpart, the Super Hog Rider primarily targets defenses.
It is a single target unit and requires a larger housing space of 12 in Army Camps, which is more than double the space needed for a regular Hog Rider (5 housing spaces).
It’s important to note that the Super Hog Rider exclusively focuses on ground-based targets, making it vulnerable to aerial troops, just like the regular Hog Rider.
With its quick movement speed of 24, the Super Hog Rider can quickly move across the enemy base, and its training time is a mere 1 minute and 48 seconds.
Town Hall | Level | Hitpoints | Damage Per Second |
13 | 10 | 1500 | 180 |
14 | 11 | 1600 | 200 |
15 | 12 | 1700 | 230 |
Hog
Once separated, the Hog and the Rider will have distinct statistics and roles. The Hog will be specialized in targeting defenses, using its remarkable speed of 32, making it extremely quick on the battlefield.
It will focus on dealing damage to a single target at a time. The Hog’s damage per second seems kind of low.
Hitpoints | Damage Per Second |
800 | 50 |
900 | 55 |
100 | 60 |
Rider
On the flip side, the Rider will assume the role of a regular troop, targeting the nearest enemy building on the battlefield. With a movement speed of 16, which is half that of the Hog, the Rider moves at a steady pace to fulfill his objective.
Notably, the Rider will continue to deal the same amount of damage as he did prior to the separation. Additionally, the Rider has a special advantage: he deals double damage to walls.
Hitpoints | Damage Per Second |
550 | 180 |
625 | 200 |
700 | 230 |
Changes to Super Troop
According to the official announcement, an important change is coming for Super Troops in Clash of Clans. Players will soon have the ability to cancel a Super Troop, enabling them to boost other troops into Super Troops when necessary.
This quality of life change grants players the flexibility to switch Super Troops in case they accidentally boost the wrong one.
However, it’s important to note that canceling a Super Troop will not refund the Dark Elixirs or Super Potions used to initially boost the troop into a Super Troop.
